Ayy yo,

I was perusing the internet the other day for some exciting and interesting news, when I came across a story where
Prince - yeah, that one - has publicly deemed the internet dead!

"The Internet's like MTV," he told the British tabloid The Mirror“At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good."  Well, I'd say that he'd ought to know, because a few days after he performed the song, "Get Off," on MTV back-in-the-day, sporting a yellow blouse; yellow high-heeled boots and a pair of yellow skin-tight biker pants with the azz cut out and his raw butt-cheeks on display to the world, the network  stopped airing music videos entirely!    Talk about a show stopper.

All of the successful financial business gurus; however, disagree with the musical genius and swear that the web is alive and kicking.  Besides our daily dose of BAF on OH, the news, our almost crack addict-like responses to friends posts on Facebook, Twitter, and Myspace; don't forget our own private time spent on the preferred adult-site of the moment, the internet is only good in my opinion for 3 things - shopping, shopping, and more shopping

Would you agree or disagree?  What say you, BAF?  Holla atcha boy?

You are right about the shopping part. You can find anything you want on the net. As far as it being DEAD i think NOT. It's the way a lot of people communicate which I think is sad but it's true. There are a very few who actually pick up the phone and have a convo unless you are my momma. Our world is full of TECH and a lot of us will send a text in a hot minute at least I will and have a damn convo going for at least 30 minutes then i realalize I should have just pick up the phone and said that cause now my dahum fingers are numb. LOL!!!!

Fo real, fo real.  I hear ya.

Some of my people will text the **** outta me, back and forth, and then turn around and call me to say everything that they just texted.  I'm like,
"Ninja! Dis ain't no hotel reservation that you're trying to confirm.  Go back and read the text..."

I live on the internet and frankly I do not know how I'd managed without it.  I have been an on line junkie before AOL became popular if that's any indication of the lenth of my dependence.  Magellen was the search engine of choice and Excite was exciting and new (just loved its search within results feature).

Must admit I loved the Prince's yellow @$$ in yellow but he needs to stick to @$$ baring videos.  The internet is an ad rag now and that advertising makes big bucks.  Be it banners and other click through or share buttons not to mention the shopping.

I move around a lot but never miss my bills because they go directly to an online service so I can pull up the scanned versions.  I bought two cars on line over the years both new and used.  I've taken five plus mortages new and refinanced all at zero cost through the internet.  Not to mention the routine shopping.

Best of all for those of us with disabilities its a lifeline to the rest of the workd.  Imagine being shut up inside for a couple of weeks at a time and living alone.  The internet  keeps me connected to the world.  I'd be even more crazy than I am with no contact since I'm not much for tv and telephone.

Prince baby, stick to purple velvet with jabbot frilled shirts and @$$less pants.  Leave technology to the rest of us.

I like the web but I find that I mostly use it when I'm at work as a time waster between project tasks.  However, when I'm off work, I'm off-line.  I think it's cool that you are getting a lot mileage out of the web.  You sound very creative and serious about your money.  Way to go!

I often wish that there was some way that we could turn this whole BAF experience into the on-line version of a morning wake-up radio show.  But I don't work for free and "charity" is just the name of a ***** that died broke.

Morning handsome,

Your take on why MTV went down is interesting .... lol ... coulda
been the raw butt cheeks thing .... kinda sexy in a eeeeww .. kinda way!

I heard about Prince saying that, I don't know how he lives without using
the internet to some extent. Maybe he's got people that do all his
internet bidding for him. So he might be using internet vicariously.
Sometimes Prince is a Little bit on another plane though. lol

Personally, I wouldn't know life without the internet. I do it all ... research, study,
social network, shop, music, video you name it. Far as I'm concerned it's definitely here
to stay. Now the hackers and identity thieves are a rising problem but making
great career opportunities for those with electronic security degrees and training.

Morning handsome,

Good morning, but handsome is my brother.  I'm the other one - gruesome.

Your take on why MTV went down is interesting .... lol ... coulda
been the raw butt cheeks thing .... kinda sexy in a eeeeww .. kinda way!

When I watched the MTV awards that year, I was totally shocked and appalled that Prince showed the entire world his money maker.  Now he's running around knocking on people's doors trying to sell people on being a witness for God.  That boy ain't right in the head I tell ya.

I heard about Prince saying that, I don't know how he lives without using
the internet to some extent.   Maybe he's got people that do all his
internet bidding for him.  So he might be using internet vicariously.

Funny that you should mention bidding.  I wonder if he will sell all of his computer gear on Ebay since he doesn't use it anymore.  I'll bet he'd get a lot more money for the stuff if he mentioned that Sheila E. held a mouse between her legs, Appollonia sat on one of the keyboards, or Vanity humped one of the monitors.

Personally, I wouldn't know life without the internet.  I do it all ... research, study,
social network, shop, music, video you name it.

Very creative use of the tool, Ms. Lady.  Cool.

Far as I'm concerned it's definitely here
to stay.  Now the hackers and identity thieves are a rising problem but making
great career opportunities for those with electronic security degrees and training.

Yeah they can be a pain.  They are almost like roaches.  As soon as you think you've killed them all here comes more.

MySpace & Craigs List?! OMG!  Please don't go on those sites, Glammy!  They are pedophile & prostitution heaven right there.  Word!  It's a sheer miracle that those sites are still on the web and haven't been raided by the Po-Po (cops) for soliticting ring-dings (kids) and ho-ho's (self explanatory).
